Some Frequently Asked Questions:
I'd like to camp-out, hike and rock climb, but I haven't a thing to wear!
There's a common misunderstanding that camping is expensive. It
really isn't, because there are so many camping stores that rent
everything you need, from tents, sleeping bags, camp stoves, even
mattresses-and at a reasonable price too! We'll provide you with
information of where and what you should get.
Each event has a warm-up meeting before outing and your trip leaders
will help you in every way to assure a safe and rewarding weekend. You
most likely will be able to borrow equipment from your fellow Nevada
Outdoors members as well. you will also be shown what and how to pack,
what kind of shoes to wear, what foods to bring, what clothing you'll
need and we'll even coordinate a carpool to get you there. We want
everyone to have a good time and we'll do whatever we can to assure
that you do.
I want to find a way to meet good people, but I don't camp and hike.
Nevada Outdoors has evolved into a social indoors/outdoors group
with 4 activities each month. Those include Dinner night out, game
nights, and other events. There is plenty of opportunity to meet great
people without being in the wilderness.
Do I have to be a member to participate in Nevada Outdoor activities?
We encourage people to come to our meetings and participate in one
of our events before paying for a membership. If you like us you are
welcome to join.
A registration form and waiver must be filled out, signed and
turned into one of the board members prior to or at the beginning of an
event.
